CARBONDALE CLAY CENTER PRIVATE LESSONS & GROUP EVENTS
INFORMATION & REQUEST FORM
Interested in a private lesson or group event at Carbondale Clay Center? These 2hr sessions are a great way for any individual, couple, or small to medium group to receive one-on-one instruction from a seasoned CCC teacher. Beginners will have a chance to learn the basics of clay, where experienced potters can focus on a particular skill, interest, or form. Please note that while you may decide with the instructor to keep some of your work to fire, the main objective of private lessons is to practice and get a feel for the ceramic process. If you do end up with work you wish to keep, it may take up to three weeks for the firing process to complete depending on factors such as thickness of the pieces, how much work is being processed through the kilns, etc..
If you are requesting a group event such as a team-building retreat, birthday party, baby shower, anniversary event, etc. during which you'd like to make work to fire as a keepsake, please make note in your private lesson request form.

Timing: For all lessons, turnaround time for receiving any completed fired work is roughly 2-3 weeks (potentially longer around the holidays with a higher volume of work moving through our kilns).
-
Scheduling: Available days & times are dependent on teacher and studio availability. The earlier the request, the more likely we are to find an available teacher (minimum 2 weeks). The easiest way to go about scheduling is for the party to first provide general guidelines and parameters (e.g., weekday vs. weekend, morning, afternoon, or evening, preferred days of the week, target month, and any definite unavailability). A member of our team will then identify instructors with schedules that align within the parameters and send specific date & time options back to the party for selection.
-
Additional details: Food, drink, and decoration is welcome in the studio for private events but is not provided by CCC.
*Shipment of fired work to nonlocal locations is not included and will be invoiced to the participating party.
